This is big game country - elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, spotted hyena, eland, impala, waterbuck, zebra, warthog and hippo, to name a few, are some of the larger herbivores seen regularly by guests.

In addition, for bird lovers, 350 species including Nyasa lovebird, yellow- spotted nicator, rock pratincole, banded snake- eagle and Livingstone's flycatcher occur.

Although more than 75 species of freshwater fish flourish in these warm, nutrient- rich waters, many anglers arrive with one thing in mind - landing a tiger. Tigerfish are probably the world’s most infamous freshwater fish, revered for their power and fierce set of razor sharp teeth.

For the less energetic and a change of pace the Niloticus bream, noted for its fine table qualities, is a popular quarry.
